CHANGE AGENT

According to the book Representing: Hip Hop Culture and the Production of Black Cinema By S. Craig Watkins, the controversial 1965 Moynihan Report on Black poverty argued that the matriarchal structure of Black culture weakened the ability of Black men to function as co-equal authority figures which has become a widespread dominant paradigm for comprehending the social and economic disintegration of late twentieth-century Black urban life. The dissolution of the traditional two parent Black family has affected several generations of all social outcomes for Blacks.
