You are what you are fed through media.  Lucky for us we have Janks Morton a Social, Political, and Spiritual Activist and creator of www.whatblackmenthink.com.  The video above relates to his latest film project Hoodwinked the much anticipated and long awaited sequel to 2007 Best African American Documentary WHAT BLACK MEN THINK

For over four-hundred years, the majority white society has used many tools to reinforce a message that the peoples of African descent are less-than, not-equal-too or not-good enough. In this modern era of information, the media, government and special interests use statistics to further promote the message of Black inferiority. What troubles Janks Morton most, is that we as a people have internalized the misinformation, embraced the myths, and perpetuated the stereotypes, sadly reinforcing a collective misperception of our own identities.

Morton recently shared a closer look at states via the images below via facebook.  African Americans being visual people, the impact has been great.

It is my sincere hope that the positive messaging around the amazing strides, specifically 18-24 year old African Americans are making, truly resonates with our community. For far too long, we have been pushed down to the point where, when asked to name one positive attribute (stereotype) about African Americans, I have seen a nation of people, young and old, rich and poor, educated and under-educated absolutely frozen in their hearts as what to say. Prayerfully, this series of Graphic, and the video series that will follow can start a new conversation, a new message for a people far removed from their greatness by the negative messaging all about them.
